Legislative Update
There are two parts to a successful government affairs strategy. Part one is telling a good story and backing it up with useful and reliable information. And, the information needs to come from a credible source. That is lobbying in a nutshell. ORPHCC BOARD MEMBER TESTIFIES AT PLUMBING BOARD
Steve Houston, an ORPHCC Board Member, testified before the Plumbing Board on October 18th on proposed changed to the Plumbing Specialty Code. Houston was one of only two plumbers representing the industry on a special panel reviewing FOG issues. As part of a cooperative agreement with sewer purveyors, ORPHCC, BCD and other stakeholders supported some changes to the Plumbing Code in exchange for the sewer purveyors agreeing to not create additional hook-up regulations beyond the Plumbing Code.
